Dutch Speaking Unix/Linux System Administrator

Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch speaking Unix/Linux System Administrator to join a prestigious client located in Brussels, Belgium. This is a contract position with a duration of 7-8 months.

Our Client:-
The Ministry of the Flemish Community (MVG) was from January 1, 1983 to January 1, 2006 the official organization of the Government of Flanders, where the Flemish Government policy is implemented. The ministry was divided into departments were headed by a Secretary-General. The departments knew another subdivision in administrations. The administrations were led by a Director General.

Your New role:-

Department of Environment

The Environment Department is responsible for an integral and integrated environmental policy in Flanders. It is therefore a broad entity that is active in many areas. Policy planning and coordination, licensing, enforcement, scientific research, consultation, awareness-raising and education are some of the key words that come to the fore in the operation. The department consists of a co-ordinating secretariat and eight departments that each individually apply for a specific aspect of the environmental issue.

You will go to the Data and Information Management and Digital Society (DIDM) department of the Environment Department. This department is responsible for internal ICT services to the other departments of the department and through the MMIS project to the other entities of the policy domain. DIDM is a young and small dynamic department in full expansion.

You are responsible for:

- You get System Engineering tasks such as setting up and managing Linux Servers, providing 2nd line support, maintenance of the IT infrastructure
- You work together with and receive support from a team of different IT professionals, each with their own specific expertise
- You participate in the development and automation of the hosting environment
- You contribute to the day-to-day operational management of the existing environment, mainly focused on support deployment and setup of web-based web applications
- You set yourself up flexibly and help constructively search for a solution that is acceptable to all stakeholders.

Your Skills and Qualifications:-

Essential Skills:-
- Higher education (Master or Bachelor) computer science
- Dutch
- Unix/Linux System Administration
- Experience with project-oriented work
- Ubuntu, CentOS and Solaris
- KVM, Ceph, OpenNebula
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Linux system management
- Knowledge of Ansible, kvm, Ceph, OpenNebula, iptables, Bacula, Bartender is a strong plus.
- Experience backup environment (Barman, Bacula)
- Experience in automation projects and continuous delivery is a strong plus.
- Zabbix
- Mail environment (Postfix, Zimbra, Mailman)
- Experience with mail infrastructure management, DNS, ldap (opendj), are a strong plus
- You are at home in the world of open-source software and attaches importance to the use of open standards
