Dutch Speaking System DBA

Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch speaking System DBA to join a prestigious client located in Hasselt, Belgium. This is a contract position with a duration of 5 months.

Our Client:

The Ministry of the Flemish Community (MVG) was from January 1, 1983 to January 1, 2006 the official organization of the Government of Flanders, where the Flemish Government policy is implemented. The ministry was divided into departments were headed by a Secretary-General. The departments knew another subdivision in administrations. The administrations were led by a Director General.

Your New role:

The Vlaamse Waterweg is looking for a SystemEngineer DBA, this person should be able to demonstrate experience in setting up/consolidating/migrating and signing up complete MS SQL OTAP environments.
To perform health checks for SQL environments and apply/perform optimizations from these health checks.
Optimize security for SQL Servers.
Maintenance plans can be made to improve existing and new environments
Set up reporting in function of optimization and management as well as offering reporting to users on demand.
Have knowledge of the latest updates on MS SQL (SQL 2008 until 2016, preferably with certification of the requested environments)
Knowledge of backup optimizations for SQL environments.

Waterways and Zeekanaal NV (W and Z) and NV The Flemish Waterway manages waterways and waterborne soils in Flanders. To contribute to better mobility in Flanders by stimulating and expanding inland navigation. To exploit, maintain and invest in these waterways, develop them in their function and support new developments. At the same time, we protect the population from water pollution by continuously ensuring proper drainage of water and establishing dikes and controlled flooding areas. We care for the environment and safety, as well as human in general, as a priority. We also build the recreational features of the waterways for hikers, fishermen, cyclists, water enthusiasts and pleasure enthusiasts. All these activities are done with respect for the many features of these waterways. Both entities are planning a merger to De Vlaamse Waterweg in the short term.

Your Skills and experience:

Essential Skills:

- Strong DBA experience
- SQL
- MySQL

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of SQL
- Plus, knowledge of spacial data functions, geodata knowledge.
- Plus knowledge of SQL optimizations for SharePoint environments
