Dutch Speaking IT Solution Architect

Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch speaking IT Solution Architect to join a prestigious client located in Mechelen, Belgium. This is a contract position with a duration of 1 month.

Our Client:-
Our client is a company run by the Flemish government in Belgium to provide public transportation with about 3650 buses and 359 trams.

Your New role:-

You will be part of the Lucentis project team and assist in migrating business applications within your own data centers to a VMWare greenfield. As Solution Architect, you are responsible for the overall design aspects of the application migrations and determine the migration strategy per application.

- Support Program Management in scheduling application migrations taking into account inter-dependencies of applications eg. grouping of applications that have technical dependencies, latency, Firewall, load balancer, ...
- Identify and register dependencies both inside and outside the Lucentis program
- Analysis of as-is technical application setup
- Collaboration with functional analysts, application developers, infrastructure engineers, project managers and the enterprise architect
- Support or perform reverse engineering to collect missing information
- Layout of to-be application architecture based on the standard infrastructure components
- Validate new requests and adjust to the defined standards
- Validate external provider infrastructure proposals based on specified requirements and defined standards
- Providing infrastructure expertise for business and application projects
- Align with the team leaders in Infrastructure and Applications for allocating project resources
- Build the application migration script
- Identifying the technical risks associated with the migration manual, drawing up a risk reduction plan eg. possible performance issues, external dependencies, availability, ...
- Supporting the project manager in creating the migration project plan and identifying dependencies and risks
- Support with experience and expertise to migration teams during and after migration

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills:-
Broad general knowledge of ICT infrastructure, ICT technologies and application development with a deep knowledge in the following areas:

- Server and storage hardware (HP)
- Cloud environment concepts and methods (private, public or hybrid cloud, iaas, ...)
- Server environments (SAP and non-SAP systems) with different OS systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, ...) and the associated high available/fault tolerant solutions
- Server virtualization (VMWare and Hyper-V)
- Database management (MS SQL, Oracle)
- Data communication: WAN, LAN, WLAN, DMZ, ...
- Security: AD, antivirus management, patch management, Firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, ...
- Unified Communication (mail, Skype4B, ...)
- Data integration/Interfaces (IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Biztalk, FTP, ...)
- Infrastructure Management Solutions (HPOV, Microsoft Service Manager, ...)
- Knowledge of backup solutions (DPM, HP Data Protector, ...) and Disaster Recovery Techniques (VMWare SRM)

You have at least 10 years of professional experience in the above mentioned areas and experience in steering and motivating teams.
