Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch speaking First Line IT Support Engineer to join a prestigious client located in Mechelen, Belgium. This is a contract role with a duration of 5 months.

Our Client:-
Our client is a company run by the Flemish government in Belgium to provide public transportation with about 3650 buses and 359 trams.

Your New role:-

Main tasks:

- Is responsible for solving the incidents and requests identified by the Helpdesk and recognizing problems:
- Seeks a solution for the reported incidents and closes the incident after the solution has been implemented.
- Informs the user in connection with the available solution via the central service desk.
- Analyzes the problem identified and solves the problem or escalates the problem to the second line.
- Provides advice when making a change request.
- Provides for operational management of local applications and systems in accordance with the guidelines:
- Indicates the maintenance nuts and performs maintenance.
- Performs the operational monitoring and performs the necessary checks.
- Manages local Servers.
- Manages the local network.
- Is responsible for the proper functioning of desktop environments.
- Manages the various local storage media.
- Develops proposals for operational procedures, documents them and sends them where necessary.
- Performs changes to the infrastructure and performs default software updates.
- Provides advice on making capacity requirements. Is responsible for performing (local) system security in accordance with the guidelines
- Voices the policies and guidelines for protecting PCs, passwords
- Supports the management of digital identities, accesses and rights
- Provides advice in capturing security policies and architecture.
- Enables detection, resolution and escalation to second line of security incidents and records them.
- Advises in ensuring continuity:
- Advises when preparing the ICT-DRP plan.
- Test the ICT continuity plans and provide feedback and advice for updates.
- Carries out at the moment of ICT calamity
- Identifies ICT training nodes within the business:
- Identifies the training needs of the business regarding ICT systems and solutions.
- Provides advice in setting up a training program and assists in its implementation.
- Manage the assigned configuration items in the CM DB:
- Controls the assigned configuration items in the CMDB.
- Provides input when verifying the CMDB.
