Drug Safety Specialist

Drug Safety/Pharmacovigilance/Pharmacovigilence/Clinical Safety/Quality Checking/Case Processing

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Drug Safety Specialist with a Global Pharmaceutical company based in Cambridge. This role will be focused on quality checking and review of processed adverse event cases. This is a lucrative contract role within an organisation concentrating heavily on growth.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

*Works under general guidance of Manager using well defined procedures.
Performs quality control (QC) checks on cases entered on the global safety database and provides feedback to case owners.
*Collates findings from QC checks in order to identify areas for clarification with respect to data entry conventions and specific training needs.
*Performs monthly review on sample of cases not submitted to regulatory authorities in order to confirm reporting decisions.
*Seeks assistance from appropriate internal and external resources.

Knowledge and Skills

*Ability to maintain confidentiality (especially on patient records), quality and accuracy.
*Understands safety database structures and is familiar with data retrieval tools.
*Demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork and initiative.
*Must be proficient in email and verbal communication.
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word
