Digital Rights Management (DRM) Architect
Description
The DRM Architect is responsible of the definition of the corporate DRM solution for internal, external and mobile users.
Background:
Our client wants to further improve the protection of its sensitive data. Digital Rights Management (DRM) has been selected as the encryption technology for (highly) confidential unstructured data.
Our client has set up a native Microsoft AD RMS infrastructure and performed PoC testing. A detailed design of the current PoC set-up has been worked out.
The current set-up supports following formats/applications: Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word), Exchange (including transport rules), Sharepoint.
Next steps:
For 2015, our client intends to roll out DRM for specific user groups/use cases only. In a first phase, this will be a purely internal solution. For a second phase, it should be possible to access protected data from mobile devices and to share it with external partners.
Our client wants to define a roadmap that is future proof and encompasses additional phases that could include policy enforcement and support of additional formats and applications. Further enhancement of the user experience needs to be a key consideration. For the realization of these aims, our client considers the introduction of additional (3rd party) tools.
Responsibilities:
For phase 1
Validation of the design for Disaster Recovery and UAT
For phase 2
Evaluation of the AD Federation scenarios (Azure, Federation Hub), that are at the base of an external solution. Recommendation of a preferred solution. Review, control and approval of the solution design and use cases written by the DRM engineer/analyst. Activity to be performed in close collaboration with the project architect and specialists in the multiple teams and with Microsoft. The solution should be aligned with the client's roadmap for external collaboration (Corporate Dropbox, Extranet) and with security governance policies. Similar exercise for the full external solution: placing of the RMS server (cloud, DMZ, internal). Working out the architecture for proper integration with Enterprise search and with Documentum.
