SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Office Supervisor and Resident Services Director, incumbent is responsible for transporting residents in a safe, responsible manner to scheduled appointments and other activities. Assists residents on and off transportation vehicles, including helping with residents' assistive devices. Monitor and assist residents when away from facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Drives community vehicles for purpose of transporting residents to appointments and other activities/outings; assist residents on and off of vehicles; helps residents with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.; keep driver's license updated and remains eligible for licensing in accordance with state/federal regulations, if applicable.
- Responsible for the maintenance of community vehicles; reports any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and/or incidents; maintain necessary travel logs and transportation charges; conducts pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily maintenance log; reports any unsanitary conditions or needed repairs of vehicles to supervisor.
- Attends all scheduled in-services and meetings. Stays current with Medline University and other continuing education requirements as applicable to The Health Care Center and Assisted Living areas.
- Relates positively and favorably to residents and families and works cooperatively with other associate and personnel of other community agencies at all levels.
