Drilling Engineer

Responsibilities: * Provide general drilling engineering support to individual Operating Companies globally as well as investigations into specialist areas or issues affecting the company's domestic and international exploration and field development teams. * Support Technology Development and Strategic Research programs to develop Drilling Engineering Technology and assist with deployment to the Operating Companies * Provide technical guidance geared towards all aspects of drilling engineering in various forms such as instructing formal training courses and both formal and informal mentoring. * Represent the company in industry and regulatory shaping activities such as API/SPE work-advisor groups meetings. * Periodic travel to domestic and international business units to assist with technical analysis and/or for technical course instruction commitments. Requirements: * Bachelors Engineering degree (or equivalent) * Competent in all areas of drilling, onshore and offshore, likely with a minimum of 10-15 years experience * Well rounded skills in Engineering; planning; and well construction * Capable of analysing and solving complex well design / construction problems using current engineering and planning software * Well versed in best practices for well construction; efficient drilling techniques and capable of developing innovative concepts or ideas for future technology projects * Ability to communicate across many functions with strong networking capabilities * Independent, self motivated person who seeks out and applies appropriate technology, focuses on improvement * Demonstrated ability to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline, multi-cultural environment
