Draft Design Engineer

PREMIUM OPPORTUNITY FOR DESIGNER/DRAFTER

- Creates and modifies parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Maintains CAD data to company standards in PDM (PDM Works).
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation adheres to documentation standards.
- Makes modifications or improvements to existing and special projects as directed.
- Provides time estimates for task completion.
- Maintains continuing documentation.
- Compiles bills of materials, specification sheets and related release documentation.
- Creates engineering change (EC) documents as required.
- Works cooperatively in a project team environment.
- Responsible for adhering to the principles and requirements in the company's quality policy.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Fluency with SolidWorks 3D CAD including part modelling, assemblies and documentation
- Knowledge of basic drafting standards
- Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication procedures and processes
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to use basic inspection tools such as scales, calipers and micrometers
- Understanding of basic manufacturing processes
- Typically requires 2-5 years of experience
- Associates degree in mechanical design or CAD operation or equivalent work experience

This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
