Domain Architect Server Storage The Domain Architect Server Storage takes ownership of the entire server and storage domain and leads the definition of the architecture for this domain. This involves all infrastructure components that are used for hosting business applications and their supporting services. Typically these components are the Servers (Linux and Windows Server mainly), the storage (NAS and SAN), and the databases (Oracle and MSSQL) although from Legacy other technologies are present. Included in the Server Storage domain are also the datacenter services and the foundation services that are utilized by buSosiness applications such as Terminal Servers and SMTP Servers. Customer utilizes several central datacenters and local datacenters throughout the EMEA region. The Domain Architect Server Storage will be involved in defining the strategic direction of these datacenters and the resulting project to optimize the datacenter landscape. With the continuous evolution of the Internet and how our customers utilize the services on the Internet there is a continuous demand for the Server Storage domain architect to keep up with the latest technology developments and how the domain should support these developments. The Domain Architect Server Storage defines the architecture, the infrastructure services and foundation services that make up the Server Storage domain, monitors the life cycle of these infrastructure and foundation services and proposes the refreshment, addition or decommissioning of these services. The Domain Architect Server Storage will participate in realization of the Infrastructure Vision 2018 by defining the architecture and the roadmap for this vision. The Domain Architect Server Storage will work in close cooperation with the security department to ensure that the infrastructure solution designs will comply fully with the security policies and will be ready to support the increasing Internet activities in a secure way. The application landscape is continuously being enhanced and improved. The Domain Architect Server Storage will be involved in the definition of the infrastructure solutions for these application projects to ensure that these applications run in a secure way while being able to deliver the business services including all application to application integrations.

Responsibilities and Tasks Actively support and consult all projects within domain as a member of the project design authority

- Lead the PDA in case the assigned domain is leading, or participate in the PDA in case the domain is supporting
- Effort estimations and business case creation
- Direct, review and approve high-level designs produced by the Project Design Office
- Promote use of pre-existing architectural building blocks
- Get sign-off for Architectural Definition from Architecture Board

Identify components for the product backlog Lead or support creation of project architecture direction in the vision statement of new initiatives:

- Lead creation of architecture direction in case domain is leading

Contribute to creation of vision statement in case domain is supporting Stakeholder communication:

- Work closely with business stakeholders (eg business sponsors, business process group) and develop an intimate understanding of the business value chain and business processes
- Ensure business and IT stakeholder sign-off as-is and target infrastructure domain architecture
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes Own, define and maintain as-is and target infrastructure domain architecture (for a 7 year horizon) aligned to business and IT priorities
- Ensure domain architecture consistency across the various initiatives/projects supported by the domain
- Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture and guidelines
- Define architectural blue prints for new infrastructure domain requirements
- Look for new technologies and market trends to improve the target infrastructure architecture
- Get sign-off for target domain architecture from Architecture Board Own, define and maintain a roadmap to achieve the target state for the domain. Work with business and IT stakeholders to define and align a portfolio of projects to deliver the roadmap. Sponsor new projects with significant architectural impact through approval in the Architecture Board Review as-is domain architecture and identify and action areas for improvement

- About 8 years of experience within ICT with 4 years in infrastructure architecture
- Professional experience with all aspects of an IT project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production
- Deep understanding of the infrastructure domain specific technologies and systems
- Broad understanding of neighboring domains and the overall technical landscape
- Awareness of relevant technologies in the wider industry, and their strengths and weaknesses
- Able to engage with delivery and ops personnel on complex technical issues
- Advanced expertise in EA frameworks (TOGAF preferred) and standard technologies (e. g. SOA) and modelling environments (e. g. UML)

Communication skills

- Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills in English
- Ability to persuade and influence key stakeholders
- Gravitas to be taken seriously by Business and Technology stakeholders
- Ability to explain complex technical issues to non IT-experts

Analytical skills

- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Quantitative analytical skills to evaluate the costs, benefits and other measurable features of potential options
