PetStay (Harrogate and York) is a service which offers dogs all their home comforts while owners are away on holiday. We have become so successful that we need more carers to look after all the dogs who want to stay with us.

Being a PetStay carer is a wonderful way of enjoying having doggy company, but without the full time commitment of actually owning a dog! It gives carers the opportunity of getting to know many different breeds of dog, and it is a very flexible arrangement so carers can choose what types of dogs they would like to look after and when. Carers always meet a dog before they agree to take him/her.

Some of our carers have their own dogs, but some have recently lost their own dog and love the experience of looking after their 'holiday dogs'

"I was lost when our dog Will died at the good old age of seventeen. A friend suggested PetStay to us and we have been carers for a year.
Each day is made special by the dogs we have to stay and in one way or another PetStay has helped me overcome the loss of Will. Some of the dogs remind me of him with the things they do: Dasher he's so much fun; Molly always up for a walk; Bella is just a love!
Being involved with PetStay is like Christmas, each dog is different and how they look at you with those eyes! I would not have thought of owning a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, but now I love them. Have you seen a Sealyham, or a Maltipoo? I have.
The time I have had with the dogs we have to stay is something you just cannot put into words."
