Documentary Controls Officer (Trade Finance)

SOME ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Setting up new facilities for clients by creating new account, carrying out KYC and KYB (Customer Due Diligence) procedure, registration into various IT systems etc.
- Be engaged in structuring and documenting supply chain finance / supplier finance with Business Development Team.
- Review all trading documents between seller and buyer, including order(s), invoices, bills of Lading (B/L), air waybills and other documents to ensure validity of supply.
- Verify trades and that all details accord with the information input into electronic platforms by both the seller and buyer.
- Liaise with the seller and buyer throughout the supply chain to ensure information flow and control of product lifecycle.
- Prepare, check and issue Bills of Exchange (B/E) and ensure these a properly executed and delivered and accord with credit limits.
- Record and control credit limits and B/E at all times.
- Check document presentations against B/E, L/C, resolve discrepancies with banks and traders.
- Effect and administer payments to sellers, verifying documents are within the terms and validity of the finance product and accord with the trade documents.
- Handle incoming documents received against import trades. Liaise with traders.
- Prepare / complete payments for documents, commissions, bank charges, fees as required.
- Maintain appropriate IT systems in a timely efficient manner.
- Participant in regular review of L/C, B/E status/documents requirements/shipping positions and finance positions of clients and their credit limits.
