For our Life Science client in Basel, we are seeking an Documentary Business Manager
Start Date: 27/06/2016 (ASAP)
End Date: 23/12/2016
Location: Basel
Language: English and German (French can be an asset)
Your Role:
Handling of the Documentary Business which enables sales via exports to high risk countries whilst ensuring on time collections, including handling of Letters of credit (L/C), Bank guarantees (BG) and other documentary collection instruments.
- Opening and handling letters or credit and other documentary instruments as needed.
- Optimization of Letters of credit (L/C) conditions
- Ensure quality and accuracy of documents (from internal and external sources) to be submitted to Banks for the execution of L/C
- Follow up the execution of the L/C with all involved parties until the collection is made
- Negotiation of documentary business related fees charged by Banks and monitoring of such payments
- Deal with all kind of issues related to L/Cs discrepancies and interact with different players (eg Supply Chain, Insurance companies, carriers, government trade office, etc.) to solve such discrepancies.
- Maintenance of data in different systems related to the documentary business
- Reports
Your experience:
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Trade or related fields.
- Banking within the Trade Finance sector (Documentary Business) or Trade Finance department within multinational company
- Fluent in English and German. (French can be an asset )
Soft skills:
- Able to take initiative (to optimize the process)
- Reliable, able to access risks
- Responsible
- Good team player
