Projektbeschreibung

Document Controller required for a leading global Oil and Gas company based in Nailsea. The candidate will need to perform timely document inspection of supplier manufacturing records.

ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

- Perform document inspection of incoming supplier Manufacturing Record Books (SDRL MRB's).
- Documents will be applicable to manufactured components used in mechanical and electrical devices for in subsea control systems. The technical review will be in accordance with well-defined criteria (SQR codes), Technical Content Guides, engineering drawings and legibility standards).
- Approval of the documentation authorises release of the finished goods from the supplier.
- The candidate will be required to liaise with the SDRL Co-ordinator, Supplier Quality Engineers, Project Quality teams and the Supplier (when appropriate) to address key issues pertaining to documentation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:

- Perform timely document inspection of supplier manufacturing records such as: Certificates of Conformity, Material Traceability sheets, NDE reports, Welding certificates, Weld maps, hardness and calibration reports. Inspection shall be performed according to criteria defined by (SDRL) or client.
- Rework or reject supplier manufacturing documentation as required using internal data capture and reporting systems whilst highlighting key issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and use this information (using internal databases) to report documentation status and metrics both internally to the Supplier Quality team and provide feedback to Supplier's document control team.
- Maintain all approved records accurately using the agreed storage system in-line with the company and client document retention policies. Approval of Documents must be communicated in a timely and accurate manner and transmitted efficiently to both the Supplier and Project team, in order to authorise shipment of products.
- Work as a member of a team making recommendations for possible corrective actions, writing and updating inspection procedures, systems and checklists.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Must have good English written and verbal communication skills.
- PC Skills must include Adobe Acrobat Writer.

DESIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word are an advantage.
- Previous experience of documentation inspection and verification against the requirements of an ISO Quality Management System/customer specifications. Engineering qualification or previous work experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment is an advantage. A working knowledge of measurement instruments is also an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to retain concentration for extended periods.
- Demonstrate a problem solving aptitude and is initiative.
- Must be well motivated and a self-starter, capable of managing own workload and working with limited supervision to a pre-agreed but adaptable schedule (in line with business priorities).
