DOCSIS DESIGN ENGINEER - BELGIUM
Our client, a Large Telecommunications Operator based in Mechelen, Belgium, is urgently looking for a Freelance DOCSIS Specialist with experience in DOCSIS based cable networks and a deep understanding of provisioning and monitoring systems (DHCP, TFTP, SNMP, IPDR, TR-069, mediation). This is for a 3 month rolling contract with likely extensions into 2016.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
- Execute investigations, feasibility studies and surveys into the cable access network evolution (CCAP, remote architecture, DOCSIS 3.1)
- Design access network solutions, compliant to the overall network architecture, for implementing new services within project timelines and budget
- Be are aware of the vendor SLA requirements and manage the vendor to operate within these SLA's
- Verify independently the operational readiness; develop test procedures to ensure that newly deployed systems/services are correctly deployed and monitored
- Interface with the operations department and provide guidance, advice and leadership in troubleshooting main incidents
- Manage technical escalations related to the E2E DOCSIS network to your management and provide updates in an appropriate way
- Provide leadership and mentoring of the non-senior engineers to ensure that they increase in their technical knowledge and capabilities
- Maintain and build proper documentation of access network and provisioning system setups
What are the objectives of the project/candidate?
Develop Testing plans interfacing with operations providing guidance, advice and leadership as well as troubleshooting main incidents. Also you will be responsible for technical escalations related to the E2E DOCSIS network to your management and provide updates in an appropriate way and provide leadership and mentoring of the non-senior engineers to ensure that they increase in their technical knowledge and capabilities. Finally you need to be able to keep and build proper documentation of the access network and provisioning system setups.
YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE IN:
- DOCSIS (3.1) (5 years)
- TCP/IP (4 years)
- Telecommunications (5 years)
- Access Network, Provisioning and Design (2 years)
- Testing around DOCSIS (3 years)
- E2E Network (3 years)
