Django / Python Developer

For one of our clients in Brussels we're looking for a Python Developer with excellent knowledge of the Django framework.

As part of a team of developers you will be participating in several development projects. You will be responsible for the development of data intensive, server-side logic, ensuring high-performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. Also integrating third-party front-end elements into the application (therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well).

Since one project is evolving from prototype stage to production rigourous unit testing, implementation of security and data protection en version controlling will be part of your job as well.

Required Skills

The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge and skills in following domains:
• Solid experience in web development in Python (both 2.x and 3.x);
• Extensive knowledge of Django framework is a must;
• Knowledge of REST API development;
• Experience with both relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and search engines (e.g. Elasticsearch or Solr)
• Familiarity with Linux and knowledge of basic Linux system administration tasks;
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills;
• Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills;
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. SVN);
• Experience in agile development environments;
• Knowledge of commonly used web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, …);

Optional Skills

Following expertise is considered as an asset:
• Data science techniques;
• Data visualization;
• Angular JS experience;
• Dev Ops (popular hosting solutions e.g. Heroku, Amazon, Docker)
