Divisional Director

Divisional Director required for Government Role requires travel to a number of locations, difficult to estimate, but possibly 2/3 days a week, but candidate can be based from preferred location - Leeds, Manchester, Bedford, Dorking or Birmingham To lead, direct and motivate a large Major Projects team delivering a portfolio of major projects and property acquisitions. Overseeing all aspects of a portfolio of large scale and complex projects, ensuring all project objectives are delivered within the expected performance targets for cost, time, quality, safety, environment and economic benefits. Providing leadership to develop the next generation of capital investments and contributing at Major Projects executive group level

SKILLS REQUIRED
Experience required

Substantial experience of at least 15 years in the construction industry (ideally roads sector), leading high risk and high profile programmes. Previous experience in Programme management of at least 3 inter-related projects, preferably in the public sector.

Essential Skills/Knowledge:
Successful track record in a senior strategic management role, demonstrating excellent leadership, coaching and influencing skills with experience of motivating a team to deliver programmes of work against challenging cost and schedule targets. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage others in the development and translation of business needs into strategies that drive enhanced business outcomes for the organisation as a whole. Proven project management background, with experience in the infrastructure or transport sector. Has developed and motivated capable teams, including a structured approach to the use of data and intelligence to drive development of operating strategies. Experience of working collaboratively with the supply chain, through establishing high levels of trust and co-operation. Proven record of effective commercial management for large contracts under NEC or similar collaborative forms of contract.

Desirable Skills/Knowledge:
Sound understanding of public sector governance. Experience of leading major corporate change.
