Distribution Contract Manager - 5 months

Leicester Water Centre

Role Objective:

* Ownership of the contract supplier relationship, ensuring that performance is monitored and the contract is administered fairly and consistently, working with both the internal client and contractor to seek efficiencies.
* Manage the Contracts team.
* Act as the primary point of contact for resolving contract issues
* Drive contractor performance by ensuring the tight data is established and acted upon as part of regular contract meetings, using key performance measures.
* Manage a contract improvement workstream primarily focussed on resolving commercial issues and ensuring processes are in place to ensure timely payments for services procured through the R&M and leakage Contract
* Lead Contract Improvement improvement groups

We are seeking an interim Contract Manager with a good level of Contract knowledge and commercial experience (specifically dealing with negotiation) who can fill a vacancy created by a resource requirement associated with building our new R&M and leakage Contract model.

Key Accountabilities:

* Build effective communication and collaborative relationships between STW, including non Distribution staff and Contract Staff.
* Manage performance of Contractors and associated contracts - own the supplier relationship.
* Develop clear standards ensuring contract understanding and compliance within Distribution
* Develop standard solutions, innovation and efficiency at process level to reduce costs and drive issue resolution
* Evolve existing Contract to meet changing needs of the client
* Oversee the administration of the Distribution contracts
* Provide clear liaison and support to Distribution, taking responsibility for Contract Meetings and accountability for Continuous Improvement Groups.
* Ensure key performance measures (financial, H&S, Customer, operational, environmental etc) are reported and communicated.
* Direct Management of Contracts team - 4 staff
* Managing and influencing key internal and external contract stakeholders.

Experience:

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:

Essential

* Specialist knowledge of contract legislation
* Significant Contract Management experience
* Financial and Commercial Awareness
* Proven record of effective leadership, team management and stakeholder management
* Track record of delivery to deadlines
* Good IT skills
* Proven track record in delivering and sustaining change.
* Experience of presenting and report writing
* Experience in the facilitation of working groups, process reviews etc
* Experience of providing practical solutions achieving performance improvements

Desirable

* Significant experience in an operations environment
* Track record of innovation to drive continuous improvement
* Purchasing or Commercial experience would be an advantage
* Knowledge of Distribution activities

* Knowledge of purchasing procedures and policy
* NRSWA knowledge

Qualifications:

Essential

* Full UK Driving Licence
* Degree or equivalent OR significant water industry, contract management or purchasing experience

Desirable

* Lean Management Expertise
* Background knowledge of Distribution activities
* IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety Qualification
* Contracts Management or Purchasing qualifications
