Discovery Team Lead - Windows 7

In this role you will provide expert application discovery and rationalisation skills to ensure that specified applications are identified and only those applications that are needed into the future are tested for Windows 7 compatibility. You will also identify non-standard peripheral devices and undertake a similar process.

More specifically, you will:

- Lead the establishment of strategies, processes and systems for the discovery of specified applications and peripheral devices including the development of a Business Engagement Strategy.
- Lead the establishment of strategies and processes for the rationalisation of Tier 3 applications into a list of those applications that will be required to operate on the Windows 7 platform.
- Work with the Project Manager and project team to plan and report on project activities.
- Perform discovery and rationalisation activities as outlined in the related strategies and processes in the timeframes specified in the project schedule.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key business areas, always with a customer-focussed approach.
- Coordinate communication between the project team and specific business areas in relation to specific detail about Tier 3 applications and non-standard peripherals to inform the packaging and testing processes.
- Manage a small team of discovery officers, ensuring that the quality of interaction with Metro North business areas is consistently high.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned by the Project Manager

As the successful applicant, you will have:

- Proven ability in leading application discovery and rationalisation activities as part of a Windows 7 implementation.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts within a large, complex, high profile ICT Project environment, preferably in relation to application compatibility with Windows 7
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal project stakeholders and external technology vendors in order to partner with and engage them in delivering the required ICT outcomes
- High level interpersonal, consultation, negotiation and communication skills including demonstrated experience in guiding, coaching, and influencing others
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to make recommendations based on the information at hand.
