Exciting opportunity to be part of a leading Telecoms organisation helping to shape and define business strategy and People capability across the business.

The role holder will play a key role in the People and Customer Leadership team and will interact with the SMT and with senior leadership across the Business on a regular basis.

The role holder has overall accountability for understanding and ensuring the key factors to be considered and executed in the design of the overall organisation and the relationship between organisational elements and the business strategy

The role holder will have overall accountability for ensuring the effective use of people resources to maximise the return on investment

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

PEOPLE CAPABILITY:

- Own and drive development of the people capability agenda in line with the Company and People Strategy using external and internal insight to aid effective decision making.
- Ownership of company wide talent agenda ensuring proactive strategies are in place to enable the business to identify and nurture it's talent across the organisation supported by philosophies, tools and processes that aid the effective management
- Ownership of the overall development agenda, ensuring a strategic focus to the design and development of our people at all levels ensuring the effective use of tools and practices that enable the gathering of training needs and design of interventions to suit a variety of people's learning styles.
- Ownership of our organisational competency framework and aligned values and behaviours supporting the organisations desired culture and aligned to the People strategy
- Ownership of the design, development and execution of a strategic resourcing and workforce planning strategy and associated toolkit gathering feedback from key stakeholders ensuring this is in line with business needs and fit for purpose.
- Ensure effective engagement and collaboration with the strategic Business Partners to gather business requirements and delivery teams to evaluate learning and training interventions to ensure business goals have been met.
- Accountable for designing business solutions to meet the needs of the business and ensure these are aligned to the People and Company strategy.

SENIOR LEADERSHIP ROLE:

- Provide inspirational leadership to the People Capability team, developing a proactive team who work cross functionally to deliver quality results and outcomes for the Business.
- Develop and apply knowledge of key business drivers in making long range strategic decisions.
- Demonstrate high levels of commercial acumen and business and financial awareness. Plan and manage headcount costs and operating budgets.
- Role model and champion a strong customer focus.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP TEAM:

- Define and own the People Strategy.
- Set clear and consistent direction.
- Engage and inspire belief in our people.
- Embed the right culture and behaviours to achieve the right outcomes.
- Ensure our function is the right size with the right people, with the right capabilities, and the right behaviours to achieve our vision.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

MUST HAVE:

- An experienced, confident and capable senior HR professional with demonstrable experience of leading and driving the People Capability agenda
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the capability to be an inspirational leader.
- Experience of influencing senior business teams. Excellent engaging and collaborating skills.
- Developed networking skills, stakeholder engagement skills and negotiation skills.
- Experience of coaching senior managers on people management issues including reward, resourcing, performance management, talent & capability development, employee relations/engagement
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Facilitating teams to achieve defined outcomes.
- Understand the People function and all processes and policies/its capability to support business objectives.
- Graduate calibre - ideally with an appropriate post graduate qualification (eg CIPD)
- Demonstrates evidence and experience of regular Board level interaction and senior stakeholder management.
- Proven business savvy skills with the ability to demonstrate analytical and strategic thinking
