DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (GRADE A6)

STRASBOURG, FRANCE

Based in Strasbourg, France, the Council of Europe brings together 47 member states to protect and promote human rights, democracy and the rule of law throughout Europe and beyond. Reporting directly to the Director-General of Administration, you will ensure that our information system remains fit for purpose, with responsibility for strategy, operations, quality and cost control.

We will look to you to maximise the availability and security of our IT infrastructure, including documentary and archiving systems, oversee outsourcing and third-party contractors, and propose and lead investment projects. At the same time, you will build close relationships with internal partners and clients to secure their feedback and meet their needs, whilst managing substantial human and financial resources, so you will require strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Qualified to master's degree level in computer science, information systems or a similar discipline, you will bring substantial experience of information technology at senior management level. Ideally you will join us from a similar international environment and you will certainly bring real vision and insight, a strong commitment to our mission and an excellent command of one of our official languages (English and French), with some knowledge of the other.
