Director of Engineering

IMMEDIATE NEED: Leading financial services firm is seeking a Director, Engineering Services with 8+ years engineering/architectural/environmental real estate experience. This position can be either Contract to Hire or Direct Hire and the preferred location is Newport Beach California with San Francisco a possible option. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ror review/approvals of engineering and/or environmental due-diligence investigations to justify mortgage transactions and real estate purchases/sales
- Ability to quickly and accurately analyze problems and offer effective solutions when dealing with internal staff, attorneys, consultants and customers
- Manage all aspects of relationship with external engineering/environmental consultants, including consultant selection, contracting and quality control.
- Support various mortgage and real estate transactions, and provide project expertise to asset/property managers for various capital projects.
- Travel (as required) to observe properties considered for development or acquisition and advise regarding extraordinary maintenance and fatal flaws pursuant to clients Engineering and Environmental Policy

REQUIREMENTS

- Strong to Expert knowledge of engineering/construction and/or environmental disciplines
- 8+ years of related engineering/architectural/environmental real estate experience. PLUS: PE or RA designation
- Due-diligence investigations experience
- Fundamental knowledge of legal and business issues related to real estate transactions
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
