Director of Business Development - UK office based in Newbury - Permanent - salary up to £85,000-100000 in line with experience + benefits package

Real Pharma is looking for someone to join the Business Development Department of a fast growing Pharmaceutical company who specialise in the sales and marketing of exclusive brands and niche generic medicines. The role predominantly involves the identification and conversion of business development opportunities into actionable plans and products, in turn processing each individual project through to marketing.

The successful candidate will be responsible to lead the Business Development function to identify both new generic and new branded products and services, in order for these to be successfully marketed and launched to convert these into new revenue streams for the business.

As the Director of Business Development, you will not only lead and train the team towards achieving sales targets, but you will be involved in negotiating with third parties and developing relationships with primary strategy supply partners. This will involve overseeing the due diligence process, planning and strategy, maintaining a constant level of commercial and market awareness to identify potential opportunities, while reviewing products already under assessment to identify those with commercial interest.

The position is office based from Newbury, and looks for someone to join them to lead the team, achieve sales targets and growth in this Senior level role reporting to the Managing Director.

Specific Requirements include;
- ABPI qualified + Educated to Degree / HND level or equivalent
- Previous UK industry experience in Pharmaceutical organisation
- Previous experience within a Senior Leadership / Managerial / Director level
- Extensive experience in a Business Development role
- Previous experience in licensing deals / product / company acquisitions in both primary and secondary care
- Experience in Branded & Generic markets and due diligence
- Experience managing a team / leadership skills / team player
- Understanding of working in Pharmaceutical business development across retail, hospital, dispensing practices, wholesalers, exporters, PI importers
- Knowledge of key decision makers in leading UK Pharmaceutical companies
- Experience and ability to interpret and utilise financial data to make decisions
- Excellent IT and analytical skills
- Good business planning and strategic thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Willingness to travel
