Astellas is announcing a DIRECTOR, MEDICAL EXCELLENCE opportunity in our NORTHBROOK, IL location.

The Director, Global Medical Affairs (GMA) Medical Excellence, will proactively survey Astellas' Medical Affairs practice landscape to identify opportunities that improve medical effectiveness, mitigate risk and increase efficiency. This position will support Astellas' commitment to medical integrity and delivery of the highest standards of quality in Medical Affairs globally. This person will also serve as a liaison to internal stakeholders to ensure best practices are used consistently across functions and regions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Proactively scan the pharmaceutical industry environment to identify opportunities to drive excellence in Astellas Medical Affairs (MA) and provide best practices for upcoming trends in the industry
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts in global functions (e.g., APGD) and Regional MA stakeholders to develop medical integrity standards and guidance in the areas of greatest need

Provide contents for the design, and development of global training solutions focused on areas in which new standards have been created
- Ensure the development of training plans for each role within GMA and regional partners

Work closely with GMA leadership team (GMA-LT) as well as other cross functional team members (including regional MA, Global Marketing Strategy (GMS), and external partners) to address adherence to medical excellence principles and standards
- Partner with regulatory and compliance leadership to ensure medical excellence standards (e.g. publications, medical information) are consistent with the rules of local markets

Review and approve SOPs and processes created by Medical Affairs process optimization in support of global standards developed by Medical Excellence
