DII Implementation Officer

Main Duties/Responsibilities
A role has arisen in a defence establishment for an Implementation Officer in the South West area, although there will be travel to other sites around the country. In this role the Implementation Officer will be involved in supporting the project Management of the delivery of Defence Information Infrastructure(DII) Soultion into the maritime environment at Restricted and security levels encompassing. The assuarance of the DII/F Depolyed soultion for the maritime environment, achieved though the review of evironmental test plans, docmentation and test reports, to ensure they meet the required maritimes stadards, and though the conduct of the Maritime Communications Technical Authority( MCTA) Trial requirements detailed in DBR 9463. This requires attendance at installation inspectations and naval weapon harbour trials, or harbour acceptanced trials in naval bases and commercial dockyards. Ship visits for DII/F design asspects, inculding scaling, mature design sloution (MDS) surveys, MDS Validations, MDS addendum surveys and lines out. This is arragned and conducted in conjuction with DII/F delivey partner, Navy command, DIST Maritime Staffs and third party contractors. This task also inculdes. Applying compliant project management and assuarnce methods and standards to the design, development transition into service, and sustainment of Defence information services team(DIST) provided Maritimes information infrastructure solutions. Co-Ordinating the project level dependencies between the DIST Maritime programme and the new build, refit and matience progammes for Maritime Platforms. Assurance of delivery partner project, installation and trial plans and contributing to matience of agreed joint (contractor,user and MOD) Plans. Reporting Progress and maintenance of stake holder engagement, in line with agreed Goverance arrangements. Assurance of DII/F Maritime inspeoctions and trials, overseeing the subsequent defect reporting and their resolution with delivery partner. Managing project level issue logs and risk registers. Review, assessment and comment on engineering, planning and other project management related docmentation, plus engagemnt in clarifcation and agreement of those docments with a range of stakeholders inculding the delivery partner, Other DIST and ISS teams and DES platform groups.

Skills/Experience Required
To be considered for this position the Implementation Officer should demonstrate strong project management skills, strong engineering background preferably electrical engineering and must be able to prove He/She has worked on a similar project. Experience of working in a Naval environment will be good however not essential. Experience of the processes of the MoD/Military will also be good but not essential

Formal Qualifications Required
Electrical Engineering Prince 2

Additional Comments
Due to the length of this contract and the nature of the client having a current Security Clearance will be highly advantageous
