Digital UX Designer - 6 Months London

Certes have been instructed to recruit a Digital User Experience Designer to join our central London based public sector client on a 6 month contract initially. The role will be paying the market rate. This is a senior role that would suit a high-calibre UX Designer.

The User Experience Designer is required to quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team of Developers, Designers and Analysts. You'll be the kind of person who is unconcerned with titles and hierarchy; what really excites you is problem-solving and the opportunity to deliver innovative technology that carries real value for users. You will draw value from collaboration with others, actively seeking input from colleagues and valuing a multidisciplinary team over hierarchy. Day-to-day you will be an integral part of that team, designing, creating and improving services and transactions.

The User Experience Designer will come to the role with:
Expertise in designing interactions professionally for the web and mobile.
Solid experience of web and mobile application interface design.

Core skills: sketching, design production, hand-coded HTML & CSS, rapid prototyping.

Experience working within an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, and the ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team.
Experience in rapid, iterative low and high fidelity prototyping/wireframing.
Be comfortable eliciting and defining business/user process flows and requirements.
Be able to generate concepts, ideas and user journeys.
Understand that usability is only part of the equation.
Continue to evolve the practice of design thinking.
Maintain a real knowledge of emerging digital trends.

The User Experience Designer will be required to:
Work as part of a multi-disciplined team to design outstanding user focused services.
Deliver designs that meet web standards, ensuring that key elements are built in from the outset.
Contribute to the development and continual enhancement of products.
Partner with colleagues to facilitate a consistent and excellent user experience.
Communicate credibly with a wide range of digital delivery disciplines and talent both internally and externally.
