Our Central Government Client is looking for a Digital Engagement Manager who will be responsible for editing web content and coordinating social media. This is an immediate requirement that will be based in Central London and will be on a 40 day contract.
This role will be responsible for working on a dedicated website and 'brand' for our clients many future-focussed projects. They use a range of channels to communicate directly with the public, academia, external organisations, the media and other influential individuals and groups. This position will sit within a small communications team which are responsible for running the Department's official web presence, including websites, social media and multimedia channels. The team contribute to the production of reports, including images, design, layout and finalising the report for publication.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
The Digital Engagement Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing high profile web presence and social media communications. The website is their key channel and it will be important that the post holder can maintain and develop this to a high standard. The ability to edit and publish high-quality web content, evaluate its impact and effectiveness and be proactive with suggesting way to improve content is required. The Digital Engagement Manager will also have day-to-day responsibility for the tools and channels we use for policy participation, including our social media channels. They will lead on the way we monitor and act on online conversations and feedback, and provide meaningful evaluation to help develop our approach to digital engagement.
*Maintain and develop web pages to ensure high quality, up to date content and design.
*Evaluate the impact of digital output, using monitoring tools to provide reports and dashboards, accompanied by clear recommendations and advice.
*Lead on the day-to-day management and development of social media channels.
*Develop excellent working relationships with online communities.

Skills/Experience Required
*Good understanding of web design principles
*Experience of working with content management systems, usability and accessibility practice and customer focus are essential
*Understands how different channels interact and work best together to achieve objectives
*An awareness of the benefits and risks of using social media channels in government would be beneficial
*An ability to explain social media concepts in plain language and encourage and coach others to embrace new digital media channels.
*Experience of editing content for the web
*Identifies issues that are of media interest
*An ability to build and manage effective relationships
*Understands key relationships and importance of networks for the organization's communications
*Actively engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders to help shape their communication approaches.
