Digital Artist/Animator (General) - Gaming & Interactive

Yoh Gaming & Interactive has a contract opportunity for a DIGITAL ARTIST (GENERALIST) to join our well-known entertainment client in Kirkland, WA. This gaming related role is key in creating the next generation of some of the most dynamic upcoming AAA title projects!

JOB OVERVIEW:

As a DIGITAL ARTIST, you'll be responsible for collaborating on product cinematic design, for overseeing development of art concepts, storyboards, and visualizations, and for approvals of final art content, working very closely with the Director of Cinematics and Art Lead, Cinematics to develop and realize the vision of the cinematics. You'll also collaborate with Cinematic Lead and Cinematics Director to define the visual style of the cinematics, sometimes within the guidelines of an existing IP.

What you'll be doing:

- Responsible for animating 3D character models in a realistic game, including working with motion capture data, hand keyframed animations and facial/lip synch animations. Working with the in house toolset, helping set up characters and rigs, while also making characters and objects game ready..
- Developing animatics (both 2D and 3D) for game projects.
- Implementing the 3D cameras for in-game cinematics.

What you need to bring to the game:

- Preferred two (2) year 2D/3D art degree or equivalent functional experience with excellent critique and vocabulary skills.
- An active, passionate interest in current video games and film to help drive quality to the next level.
- Typically four (4) plus years of progressively complex game industry experience in art and art direction.
- Knowledge of one or more types of 3D software a required (Motionbuilder is preferred, Max and Maya).
- Solid eye for natural character performance.

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

- Experience in animating motion captured animations a major plus.
