DIGITAL ADVERTISING FORECAST AND PRICING SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Seattle, WA.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- Digital advertising is an increasingly important strategic area in which we, as a premier publisher must capitalize on. Over the years, competitive pressure, programmatic ad buying, and internal resource constraints has eroded our ability to maximize returns off our premium ad inventory. The variability in traffic due to competitive pressures, as well as our digital subscriber pay wall efforts has impeded our ability to predict our ad impression inventory and appropriately implement price discrimination logic to maximize yield.
- The scope of this project is to address these issues by building a sustainable and scalable data model that forecasts our inventory and provides a framework for setting optimal pricing based on supply and demand economics. The end deliverable will be an optimized forecast and pricing model/mechanism/tool that can be refreshed with minimal effort by internal staff.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

KICK-OFF:

- Create and present detailed project plan including schedule, build, testing plan, implementation plan, training plan, and transition plan
- Present project plan to STC for review and approval

PLANNING PHASE:

- Work with STC to understand the sites digital advertising taxonomy and impression delivery hierarchy contextually and by sales channel
- Work with STC to understand current sales pricing, packaging, and discounting practices and methodologies
- Create requirements for data format and ingestion mechanism for model build

BUILD PHASE:

- Create price discriminating model (flat rate, CPM, viewable impressions)
- Pricing of floor, target, and open rate for all ad type and ad locations including by section and across devices
- Create revenue optimized packaging of advertising products
- Include standard digital packaging, as well as special packages for anomalies in traffic (constrained, surplus, holidays, special events etc.)
- Determine print and digital bundling pricing and packaging policies
- Create discounting implementation practice and methodology with business rules on application
- Promotions (eg by one get one free)
- Value add/zero dollars inventory giveaways
- Create evaluation model and mechanism to ascertain when and at what price to accept and book specific types of orders (eg booking curve analysis and Real Time yield valuation)
- Assist in determining optimal method for exposing data for analysis and performance reporting

IMPLEMENTATION PHASE:

- Will direct and assist integration of forecasts, pricing, and packaging into existing STC tools and databases
- Continue support and refinement of models and algorithms until the respective MAPE are within an acceptable tolerance as agreed to in the project plan (timing negotiable)

TRAINING PHASE:

- Train STC staff on refreshing and maintaining efficacy of models and algorithms

PROJECT HANDOFF/CLOSURE:

- Provide STC with all documentation in accordance with the approved project plan
- Present project closure report to STC for review and approval
- Complete the project requirements checklist showing that all project tasks have been completed
- Conclude support on the agreed to date in accordance with the approved project plan

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

The scope of work for the project includes all data manipulation, analysis, modelling, and refresh mechanism for optimal ad inventory forecasting and pricing. The selected person must ensure it has adequate resources and appropriate technology for designing, building, testing, and implementing the new inventory forecasting and pricing model and is staffed for the training of the company's personnel to refresh these models.
