Monsanto is looking for a highly motivated scientist to lead our doubled haploid research team. Primary responsibility will be the improvement of the DH production systems by applying innovative plant biology, chemistry, automation and plant breeding solutions to improve overall process efficiency. Position requires Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, plant breeding or related fields. Successful candidate must have experience in running a research team with ability to propose, defend and execute innovative research proposals. Candidates must demonstrate skills in several areas among biochemistry, plant physiology, genetics, genomics, data management, statistical analysis, and process improvement. Position will lead other scientists; interact with plant breeders, statistical support teams, information technology teams and engineering teams. Individual must be self-motivated and possess excellent communication and team work skills.
