Devops Engineer - Storage/Automation Lead

PERMANENT POSITION.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of skilled engineers that ensure the stability and speed of the mission critical private cloud platform of the client. As a DevOps Engineer - Storage Lead you will be expected to take the lead in maintaining and improving hybrid storage solutions used in the clients platform.

This means fixing day-to-day issues but also developing and implementing mid to long term plans to improve and simplify the management of the storage layer by eg consolidation, replacement, decommissioning, and automation.

There will be a mix of different types of storage technologies to manage, which gives you an interesting challenge and the ability to make a real difference in the day-to-day operations. You will also participate in global and European projects that require guidance and technical leadership from platform DevOps engineers.

Although your primary focus will be storage and automation, there is more than enough opportunity to widen your scope to interesting technologies in the virtualization (RHEV/KVM/VMWare), networking, and a cool application stack based on Python, .NET, Redis, RabbitMQ, etc..

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

- You have serious enterprise production experience with at least one of these storage solutions and are willing to dive in to the others:
- GlusterFS
- EMC Unity
- NetApp
- SuperMicro
- Sound knowledge and experience in local, distributed, and centralized (DAS/SAN/NAS) storage connectivity and configuration on operating systems: Windows and Linux
- You understand very well that keeping a system operational 24/7/365 means automation, smart design, and rigorous testing
- Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting performance issues
- Experience implementing and migrating production storage systems
- You experience using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, and/or Scripting before to automate repetitive tasks
- You have experience with tools such as: Jenkins, Travis, Gitlab Ci
- You perform well under pressure
