DEVOPS ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY with Yoh's client located in San Ramon, CA

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Working in close collaboration with Software Engineers, Software Testers and IT Engineers to build and maintain the on and off premise software and hardware platform for Healthcare solutions.
- Representing the face of high quality design, development and maintenance practices.
- Maintain on premise Windows and Linux PCs
- Installing and upgrading software, and managing users, permissions, disk space, backups, etc.
- Maintain remote and cloud hosted Windows and Linux Virtual Machines.
- Monitor the on premise and remote infrastructure for high availability, efficient and economical usage, security threats and regulatory compliance.
- Support production, test and development infrastructure.
- Experience creating scripts with Linux BASN and Windows batch.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
- Join a high-performing Agile team adept in the ways of SCRUM, XP, and TDD
- Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts
- Demonstrate the understanding of Agile software development life cycle and able to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle
- Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding
- Work closely with your peers and keep engaging in a fast pace technical design and development team
- Execute in a fast pace delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal
- Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
- Seek and provide feedback on design and development
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
- A Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator
- A minimum of five (5) years Scripting experience using industry standard Scripting languages
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting Linux and Windows based production, test and development infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Hands-on experience with installation and administration of big data infrastructure based on Hadoop and Spark
- Hands-on experience with Scripting in Linux and Windows environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting CI (Continuous Integration) infrastructure
- Experience in supporting Predix platform based applications
- Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment (Scrum, XP, TDD)
- Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
- Able to work under minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
- Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Software development experience a plus
- Java and Maven experience a plus
