Devops Engineer - Docker, Ansible, Linux/Unix

A new opportunity has arrived on my desk for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a global and reputable client of mine based just outside the beautiful city of Amsterdam. This is an opportunity for a Senior Devops engineer. It's more a supportive role than an Integration Manager role, but it requires a lot of technical skills/experience. It's not a developer role. It's more about optimizing, improving and creating changes in the software stack. Telco background is not important.

Mandatory skills:

- ANSIBLE,
- LINUX/UNIX (ALL OPEN SOURCE),
- DOCKER.

Nice to haves:

- Kafka, Zookeeper, Elastic Search, Cassandra. + STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS. IT'S POSSIBLE (OR EVEN DESIRABLE) TO WORK REMOTE FOR 1-2 DAYS A WEEK.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Wide understanding of IP Networking as well as data centre infrastructure;
- Solid understanding of Linux.
- Proven experience with deploying and tuning Open Source components into a production experience;
- Good Scripting and/or programming skills (bash, python, Perl, AWK, Java, Javascript );
- Experience with data collection, analysis, transformations, storage and visualization, such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Graphana, Cassandra (or other NOSQL DB)
- Desirable Technical Skills:

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE WITH:

- Configuration management/orchestration tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Salt);
- ELK stack on a high throughput high available environment;
- NoSQL technologies ( Cassandra, MongoDB);
- Apache Kafka;
- Message Brokers technology (RabbitMQ, Redis, );
- Apache Mesos, Apache Zookeeper, Apache Flume;
- Statsd, Graphite and Grafana;
- Ability to apply statistical techniques to solve problems;
- Experience with big data technologies and platforms.
