Devops Engineer - Big Data/Cloud Computing/AWS

Our client, a world leader in visual digital entertainment, is seeking a Cloud and DevOps Engineer to work in the area of Big Data and Data Analytics systems.
You should have the following background:
- You are Master in Informatics/Industrial/Civil Engineer or equal through gained experience.
- You have past experience with cloud solutions and knowledge of AWS.
- You have strong experience with node.js. Knowledge of Python is an asset.
- You have a broad based understanding of postgreSQL. Past experience in Big Data is a plus.
- You have solid skills with a web developer framework, preferentially Ruby on Rails.
- You have experience with Linux Scripting, knowledge of container technologies, Docker and Kubernetes is a bonus.
- You have experience with command line tools and version control (ie git) and with CI and CD. Previous experience with Scrum/Agile is a plus
- You have experience with distributed systems, fault tolerance, and scalability, as well as capacity/performance management, tuning and testing.
- You have the ability to understand
Responsibilities will include:
- Understand the potential and impact of cloud on business related architecture with primary focus on data analytics and big data. Guided by a server architect, design and implement (coding, configuration, monitoring etc.) related future technology solutions and maintain operational integrity of the same.
- Develop, extend and maintain the web framework and underlying databases and jobs to give colleagues around the globe tailored access to the RDS database. Run queries in a lean and automated, yet flexible way.
- Maintain the overall health of the database, web framework and related systems.
- Be a flexible and versatile member of the Cloud cluster.
- Work together with technical/business representatives to foster an objective mindset and promote data driven decision making.
- Follow advances and proliferate latest trends in related technologies.
-Ability and willingness to proactively identify key challenges in the organization for which data driven decision making makes sense and having direct interaction with stakeholders to validate/improve deliverables.
