Devops Engineer - AWS Developer - Amazon Web Services Developer - Conf

Our client is looking to recruit the  services of an experienced Configuration Engineer/DevOps Engineer to work on a client-site in Luton.

The post holder  will be required to administer, enhance and manage source codebase via tsource control systems (Git and TFS), CI tool (TeamCity) platforms for onshore, near shore and off shore development and test teams. The full scope of the role will encompass all areas of responsibility in build systems, environment management, deployments, releases and source control for all environments. 

You will be expected to have a strong understanding of Automation Framework Tools and cloud technologies. Experience in designing and implementing Infrastructure-As-Code and deploying code through automation. As a Configuration Engineer you will be expected to be proficient with Chef and Amazon Web Services Cloud Platform, Source Control, Version Control and Build Management. In addition to this you will be expected to enhance the tool sets and processes to help automate tasks and move more towards a Continuous Delivery model. 

Key tasks:

- Ability to install, administer and achieve Infrastructure-as-code using Chef
- Manage and implement Amazon Web Services through Management Console and Scripting
- Administering, configuring and troubleshooting web applications using IIS6.0 and IIS7.5
- Building of .Net, ASP.NET and VB codebases
- Supporting .NET 3, 3.5 and 4.0 applications.
- Supporting Windows Server 2008 and 2012 platforms
- Supporting Azure and AWS Cloud Platform
- Scripting Powershell 2.0 and 3.0
- Administering Git and TFS 2008/2012 source control
- Experience with Artifactory
- Confident with Altassian products Jira & Confluence
- Manage and plan software branching strategies based around sprint and project timelines.
- Completing Technical documentation for all user bases
- Looking for opportunities to  include more automation within working practices 

Required skills

- An understanding of the software development life cycle.
- You will have a successful track record as a DevOps engineer working with Chef and Amazon Web Services
- Experience encompassing writing, maintaining and enhancing configuration management documentation, as well as developer training materials.
- Experience of Scripting and automating CMDB tools and processes.
- Ability to multitask and operate within a busy working environment.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a busy team with multiple work streams and responsibilities.
