Our hugely popular client is well positioned to grow its share of a fast growing online advertising industry due to its unique assets - E-commerce data, service oriented architecture, and startup culture. This company is applying the latest machine learning and big data technologies available to change the way marketers purchase, track, measure, and optimize their advertising spend. The team applies these technologies on terabytes of data a day (over 10B new events per day) operating a petabyte size cluster. Every possible signal is measured, indicating impact of advertising to provide the most objective result of marketing spends.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will find some unusual and challenging requirements that need creative solutions and the development of non-trivial systems management tools. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric and feels strongly not only about building good systems but about making those systems scalable, flexible, and operationally rock solid.

You'll be part of a strong team in a fast-paced, start-up like environment. This is an opportunity to work with distributed systems on a massive scale across multiple data centers, multiple countries and thousands of customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in 24/7 online environment
- Experience with rotational on-call duties and Real Time live-system responsibility
- Experience creating, designing and implementing system health, performance monitoring tools and software management tools
- Networking fundamentals, including load balancers, Switches and Routers
- Experience with fleet inventory management, including capacity planning
- Experience and understanding all phases of the software development life cycle (preferably Agile methodologies)
- Deep mastery of.nix Servers, Kernel level debugging, and best practices
- *nix Shell Scripting experience
- Perl, Python and/or Ruby experience
- Enterprise orchestration experience
- Enterprise configuration management (puppet, chef, etc)
- Experience building and improving monitoring and alerting.
- ITIL experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience with web-based applications at massive scale
- NoSQL technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig)
- ITIL v2 foundation
