Development Tools Expert

For our client a major in utilities we are looking for a Development Tools Technical Expert. Our client is implementing tools and techniques to shorten delivery time and to improve the quality of its applications development within the IT department.

You will:
Work together as a team with other IT experts, to define and implement engineering best practices within the development organization. The focus in 2014 is software configuration management, continuous integration, and automated testing. The development teams are located in Belgium and offshore.
Put in place and maintain the needed technical configurations together with the operational teams.
Prepare installations of the latest versions of development tools (IBM Rational, Jenkins, Eclipse, Microsoft), inclusive the necessary user notes and/or training material.
Train and coach development team members' inclusive participation in the existing hotline.
Advise the IT development teams in their needed technological choices.
Bring to the team practical experience on practices used successfully in other companies.
We are seeking a software engineer with an advanced profile. You will be working in a team currently staffed with several experts.
You must have concrete technical experience with different IT platforms, development tools like Oracle, Solaris, SQL, IDEs ( Eclipse, Rational Application Developer, ), Jenkins, IBM Rational ClearCase, Maven, Spring, ...
The usage of development engineering practices like continuous integration, automated build and deploy, automated testing, code quality inspection should be part of your daily life.
The Application Development Life Cycle has no secrets for you.
Contributions to related communities (presenting at conferences, writing blogs or articles on development engineering topics, etc.) will be taken into account.
Communication is key in this job. Dutch, French and English are needed.
