IS Development Officer

Annual Salary - £35,500 - £59,500

Full Time - 37 hours

12 Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment

Based in Chelmsford County Hall

Essex is at the forefront of seeking new opportunities to utilise technology to improve service delivery and the postholder needs to ensure these opportunities are maximised in terms of return on investment, business relevance and sustainability.

The Development Officer is responsible for keeping abreast of new technology developments and their potential for use inEssexto improve and transform service provision. This includes engaging with business areas as well as suppliers to identify and develop new opportunities.

As the Development Officer you will engage with staff at all levels and from all parts of the Council, as well as being a critical enabler for business change and service improvement. You will represent the Council's IS Strategy, identify and track new technologies and opportunities they offer ECC, create business cases for investment as well as liaising with senior management and colleagues to engage them in opportunities offered by the technology market.

The successful candidate is likely to:

- Be educated to graduate degree level and also ideally MSP/PMP qualification
- Have at least 3 years experience of new technology exploitation and project management experience
- Have proven influencing, negotiation and championing skills and the ability to lead and motivate others where no direct line management relationship exists.

Any successful applicant to this post would be appointed on a fixed term contract.
