Carbon60 is looking for a number of Development/Systesm Engineers to work for our client in both the Wimborne and Christchurch area in Bournemouth Dorset. As a Development Engineer you will be responsible for setting up and carrying out Development and Qualification testing in accordance with approved test procedures. All equipment used shall be suitable for the application, correctly calibrated and safe. Ability to follow test procedures explicitly, record and analyse data is a key function of the role.

Working within a multi-disciplined team the Development Engineer must be pro-active, resourceful and dedicated to meeting programme commitments.

1. Have you previously carried out qualification/Certification testing?
2. Have you produced qualification/certification test reports?
3. Do you have knowledge of environmental standards (RTCA DO160, MIL-STD-810 etc)?
4. Are you proficient in working with your hands to set up and run qualification/certification tests?
5. Have you been involved in investigation of test incidents/failures?

The Development Engineers will support our client with the development of Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) equipment (wing/centreline externally mounted refuelling pods, internal fuselage mounted refuelling units) and Auxiliary Mission Equipment (air-to-air refuelling probes, weapons carriage and release systems) for a wide range of customers.

The Development/Certifcation Engineers will work as part of an engineering team at IPT level or at product level supporting activity to demonstrate function and performance in environment. The majority of the work will be carried out in Wimborne, Dorset. Occasional (infrequent) travel may be required.

You will be responsible for:
Testing of Systems
Auxiliary Equipment
Air to Air refuelling systems such as Probes and Pods.
Fuel systems.
In Refuelling smaller types of equipment fit into the product group of electro-mechanical equipment such as the following: fuel system, refuelling probe, fluid/fuel dynamic, weapons release, ejector seats, bomb release, missile systems, any explosive devices, pyrotechnics and canopies.

Planning Elements
Supporting the Systems Engineer in the Bid proposal, time & cost planning for the project, Systems Requirements Capture.
Liaise with the Systems Engineers, gathering requirements documentation then collating from the customer and creating a qualification plan. That qualification plan is a justification that the Development Engineers can use to justify how they are going to achieve the requirement. When conducting the testing they will be able to refer to the qualification plan to ensure each stage is met to the customer standards and then they can verify with the customer that they are happy with the progress.

Preparing bid proposals to ensure that costing's and timings of AAR equipment systems or Auxiliary Systems meet the qualification plans and verified by the customer.
