Development Engineer

Our client, a leading British Aerospace company is looking for a Development Engineer for a 12 month contract to be based in Derby.

As a Development Engineer you will be responsible for the validation and verification of the latest gas turbine engines, compiling bespoke test plans and designing suitable test rigs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collect, process and manipulate data/models using prescribed methods, techniques and processes to provide input for others to use in their work.
- Produce reports/models/statistics in a defined format for use by others in analysis and decision making.
- Progress and monitor tasks through their defined processes and update systems to maintain an efficient operation and achieve required deadlines.

Required Skills:

- Development, planning and construction of Test Plans for the validation and verification of the latest Gas Turbine engines, developments and modifications.
- Apply personal knowledge and experience to identify opportunities for enhancing preliminary designs or models.
- Recognise priorities and time-scales and organise own work patterns to respond to customer requirements.
- Applies a structured, systematic and logical approach to solving problems.

The ideal candidate will come from an Aerospace or Automotive background and would have a good understanding of the development of new bespoke test plans for complex Aerospace systems, ideally with reference to Gas Turbines and there development, modification and design.
