This is a 12 month contract to perm opportunity with a prominent oil and gas company.Overview
Our client is seeking a .NET, Oracle Developer. A Developer is responsible for transforming application designs into tangible application components through the development of application logic, user interfaces, data interfaces, data conversion scripts and reports. Role and Responsibilities
- Develop application components to automate and streamline business processes and functions, according to design specifications
- Develop data conversion scripts to load data from external sources according to design specifications, and correct data quality or integrity problems
- Develop estimates of effort for development of, and/or modification to, application components
- Maintain technical specifications and documentation
- Troubleshoot, debugging and fix problems that occur in the everyday use of an application
- Monitor regularly scheduled jobs for successful completion.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Highly developed analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in N-tier application analysis, design and development using the appropriate development environments and tools - Microsoft VB.NET/ASP.NET, Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, Server Reporting Services, Remedy, Application Manager (Appworxs), and/or Oracle stored procedures.
- General proficiency with SQL and database query tools such as Microsoft Access and/or SQL+
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
- 5+ years experience as a Developer, preferably in the upstream oil and gas industry
- From 2 to 5 years experience supporting applications in the business area assigned
- A post secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
