Proteus Europe is searching for a Technical Consultancy Engineering Specialist providing support to the European Commission staff in in building System for Grant Management to support the operations of the Horizon 2020

Your New role:-

CONTEXT/INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES
Sygma and Compass are the projects to build a System for Grant Management for the whole Research Family in order to support the operations of the Horizon 2020 framework program, along with extension to new programs, with the purpose to become the corporate Commission e-Grants solution.
The SyGMa project needs during the implementation phase the services of a Technical Consultant Engineering Specialist LI (TCES). The type of tasks included in the service will concentrate on supporting the Commission staff in the area of structuration and implementation of the grant management systems.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
o Being able to understand well requirements analysis and application for Client Server systems and web applications.
o Technical design and implementation of JEE 6 web information systems
o Provision of technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation with information systems.
o Assistance to the definition of internal methodologies and application life cycle
o Configuration, maintenance and support for software products
o Quick learning ability is required as well as teamwork spirit and ability to integrate in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
o Reporting to EC officials

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
o Oracle 10g, Oracle Text
o WebLogic Server
o JEE 6 environment and standards
o EJB3
o UML Modelling and RUP Methodology
o XML, XSLT, FOP, SQL, PL/SQL, JAVA, JAVA scripts, HTML, JSF, CASE
tools, JUNIT, J2EE, ANT scripts, UNIX, Vaadin, jQuery.
o Tools: ECLIPSE, Maven, RTC, TOAD, XML Spy
o Knowledge of Rational Team Concert or similar collaborative source-control products.
o Ability to cope with the fast changing technologies used in web applications management.
o Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings (FR-EN).
o Ability to understand and be understood.

High level of specialist knowledge and experience on the following is requested:
o Expertise in both niche technologies is mandatory: very good knowledge in J2EE and EJB3.

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills:-
Knowledge and skills
o In depth knowledge of information systems matters.
o In depth knowledge in IT consulting matters.
o Proven experience in JEE 6 web information systems development using Java
technologies, particularly EJB version 3
o Knowledge of interoperability technology and in depth knowledge in Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA) (eg web services, message oriented Middleware,
service oriented bus)
o Knowledge of Rational Team Concert or similar collaborative source-control
products.
o Working experience of software development methodologies (eg RUP,
SCRUM).
o Good practical experience with Scripting tools
o Good knowledge in relational databases management.
o Good knowledge of UML Modelling language.
o Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture
and design
o Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
o Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid
self-starting capability and experience in team working.
o Ability to apply high quality standards.
o Very good communication skills in both English and French.
o Very good interpersonal skills and at least two years experience of liaising with
end user and technical teams
