Developer Support Engineer

Eingestellt von CompuCom

Gesuchte Skills: Support, Engineer

Projektbeschreibung

The World of Media:
A broadcast media provider wants to stream World Cup soccer matches from their Smooth Streaming server, live, to thousands of their cable modem subscribers. A major cable TV channel is developing a custom video interface for their web site that will seamlessly combine broadcast video and related products available for Internet purchase. An Internet-based entertainment provider wants to deliver independent films securely over the Internet, using digital rights management, so art-house authors can find a paying audience in places they can't book a theater. A collegiate web designer just wants to write a tiny WAV music player to her web page. Who do they call for advice on making any of that work? They call us... and maybe you.

The Opportunity:
The media support team is looking for individuals capable of providing high quality technical support to multimedia professional, enterprise, and developer customers using the encoding, streaming, and programming interfaces for IIS Media Services and Windows Azure Media Services. This team also supports Media Foundation, DirectShow, and Silverlight video playback. Technical support engagements include response to customer service requests submitted via phone and through e-mail. Support problems and solutions are often complex and unique, requiring problem scoping, advanced troubleshooting, solution generation, and a timely resolution to the customer's satisfaction. On-the-job training will occur primarily through facilitated self-study and senior staff mentoring through the initial support engagements. Secondary job responsibilities may include creating clear documentation of new product issues and "how to" information for peer support staff, product development, and customers.

Qualified candidates must bring a passion for computers, video, multimedia technology, strong troubleshooting skills, and a desire to help others solve problems. Good verbal & written communications skills and customer service skills are a must.
