Developer Java/Web

Summary:
Java Developer fluent in English to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels. The work will be carried out either in the company's premises or on site at customer premises. The successful candidate will work on the development and design of a very important open source based solution at all levels with skills in Java/JVM and front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.

Tasks:
• Delivery of quality and well documented code in line with technical and system specifications;
• Design, development, testing and maintenance of the presentation layers keeping the user experience optimal;
• Draft technical documentation and provision of support during deployment and configuration phases;
• Participation in project related meetings;
• Close collaboration with other teams involved in the project to identify possible interdependencies.

Skills:
• Experience with SQL and XML
• Thorough understanding of RDBMS systems (preferably MySQL and Oracle)
• Good knowledge of the Java Programming Language and of the Object Oriented Programming paradigm
• Good knowledge of JavaScript
• Familiar with the Spring Framework, Dependency Injection and Aspect Oriented Programming
• Familiar with Web Services (REST/SOAP)
• Experience with Application Servers / Servlet Containers: Tomcat/ JBoss / WebLogic
• Understanding of design principles and of UML and Design Patterns
• Technical or computer science degree or a similar qualification
• Strong skills in deadline management and ability to work in a team environment
• Familiar with: Source code repositories (SVN, GIT), build systems (Maven) and Continuous Integration systems
• Very Good communication skills (English, French is considered a plus) - both verbal and written
