Contract Term

This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24th, 2012.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity.Overview

Our client is seeking 3 contractors to work on 3 different projects. Each project is a web-based product replacing existing applications.

Role and Responsibilities

The developer will be part of the project team to:

- Design, develop and test code;
- Attend project meetings;
- Prepare documentation if required;
- Participate in release and iteration planning if required;
- Promote code to production; and
- Resolve defects.

Project 1
This project is to create Corporate standard software a product that was developed years ago and has run flawlessly since it's development. The technology platform it was developed on (IBM Lotus Notes) is not supported by our Client, and they need to migrating of its present Business functionality from this technology into something which is more closely aligned with Corporate technology Architecture.

Project 2 The Client is currently completing implementations of a Framework Redesign. This project is one of the five key components of the implementation.

A new comprehensive Information System is required:

- To simplify the administration and to minimise the paper work;
- To support multi-users to access the Information System;
- To track all applications;
- To implement outcome-based program logic model for program report and evaluation;
- To track and record financial reports; and
- To rate applications using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) methodology.

Project 3 - Application Portfolio Management (APM) Preferred Vendors
The Preferred Vendor is a VB6/MS Access application with a web component. There is also a VB4 component. The application is used on a daily basis by the Finance and Supply staff and other business units' staff to track the preferred vendors, with which our Client contracts for supplies.

The data is referenced on the appropriate web site and it gives the ability for users to look up and find out which vendors are preferred. However, due to software limitations the data is not frequently updated. The client application, due to the Access Back End, is not usable by more than one client at a time because the application uses exclusive access to the database. The Preferred Vendor list is used by business units throughout the corporation when they are required to obtain goods and services. It is critical that this list be accurate, updated regularly, and easily accessible on the Intranet.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

- Proven experience with C# .Net, ASP .Net, XML and web services.
- Solid experience with Active Reports, JavaScript, AJAX.
- Proven experience with Oracle DBMS.
- Proficient in web-based systems development.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong team work skills.
