DEV ENGINEER

For one of my globally leading banking clients I am urgently looking for a Dev Engineer for an initial 4 month project based in Amsterdam.

As a Dev Engineer you within the team, the main stack they use are all noted below.

THEREFORE, YOU WILL ESSENTIALLY HAVE HANDS ON EXPERIENCE WITH THE TECHNOLOGIES AND FRAMEWORKS AS DETAILED BELOW, EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFIED 'AS NICE TO HAVE':

* You are a good programmer with a strong theoretical basis; nobody has to explain you the details of KISS, DRY, YAGNI and the GoF OOP design patterns. You have some experience in functional programming and know its core principles. You are able to write clean, correct, efficient and maintainable code and work within an Agile environment.
* Scala, Akka
* Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift

* Flink
* REST Api
* Cassandra (and other noSQL DBs)
* Python
* Polymer (nice to have)
* Airflow (nice to have)
* Knowledge of data manipulation and transformation, eg SQL
* Hands-on experience building complex data pipelines eg ETL
* Hands-on experience managing and further developing distributed systems and clusters for both batch as well as streaming data (Hadoop/Spark and/or Kafka/Flink)
* Programming in Scripting languages, eg Python
* Programming in a statically typed language, eg Scala
* Experience in setting up both SQL as well as noSQL databases
* Deployment and provisioning automation tools eg Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, CI/CD
* Bash Scripting and Linux systems administration
* Security, authentication and authorization (LDAP/Kerberos/PAM)
* Affinity with Predictive Analytics, Data Science

JOB DESCRIPTION:

An experienced Development engineer who enjoys to work with the latest analytics technology to build APIs that feed our clients customers with personal relevant insights and advise. My client works with large amount of data, both batch and streaming. The engineers in this team work together with data scientists and customer journey experts to utilize this data for the benefit of our clients customers. The teams are multi-disciplinary and work agile.
You are an ambitious, enthusiastic software engineer. You enjoy designing, developing, testing and maintaining complex data-driven systems. Preferably, you have worked with low-latency distributed systems before, or you have read about them and tried some things out for yourself.

>Your work environment:
You will be part of the Data Interaction team, which consists of engineers who develop software (APIs and end-user applications) that contain sophisticated analytical algorithms, such as machine learning models. The goal is to be the best team of people that know how to operationalize those algorithms, thereby making predictive analytics and Real Time streaming a reality in application for the customers.

The team consists of 40 people that has the mission to make the customer's interaction extremely personal and relevant. They do this by combining Big Data technology with Data Science to deliver high value solutions and products for our organization. They work in a fun and creative environment and are dedicated to bringing out the best in both each other and their projects.
