Lead Detailed Planners are required to work amongst one of the biggest aircraft carrier expansion projects in recent years. With the development of the QEC aircraft carrier, T26 destroyers and other supply vessels the UK naval defence market is seeing an area of growth. We are looking for candidates who have a background in the delivery of large engineering projects.

The Role:

The main function of this role is to lead a team which plan, monitor, feedback and report to the Level 2 plan and on the Level 3 plan to both internal & external customers. Provide interface to Projects and Operations to identify, analyse & action opportunities or potential problems and ensure that Business Systems/Processes and Lean Principles work in Tandem to enable & control progress against plans.

+Manage and maintain work packages for Manufacture/Installation
+Responsible for the efficient Planning which optimises facilities, resources and materials to achieve man hour and cost targets
+Monitor and control of all work in progress using standard reports
+Maximise use of facilities/resources through effective scheduling
+Ensure rapid response to problems/issues so that expensive cost and delays are minimised
+Manage the twelve week look ahead process and six week firm planning windows, ensuring that all firm demand is met

The suitable candidate:
You will need to have a detailed and solid understanding of the planning process, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment whilst being able to work on your own initiative. You should have an understanding of Planning Tools and Integrated Business models when working within time and budget constraints.
