Desktop Migration Technician - Windows 7 - Microsoft - Win 7 Migration Project, Enterprise Client, 3 month rolling Contract, Circa

Strategic Technologies are a specialist organisation with expertise in the architecture and delivery of intuitive Desktop and Application solutions.

Working for our enterprise client as part of a team, you will follow a defined process, using tools and experience you will primarily be focused on discovery and testing of application ready for packaging by application packaging experts. The role involves working with end user and a migration team, migrating users applications and their data and desktops. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE

- Previous experience in desktop support, operating systems and a good understanding of Active Directory and desktops, Ideally will have worked within a company supporting end user in a Microsoft desktop environment
- Must be ability to follow process and create accurate documentation
- A good understanding of applications
- Must be presentable and personable for this customer facing role
- Experience of working with AppV and AppSense an advantage
- Must be a team player

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist with planning user migration onto Windows 7 (Some VDI)
- Close liaison with the end user and various business managers to discover applications required and collate relevant source files, media and information ahead of packaging of apps and migration of the desktop.
- Manage and log issues
- Keep end user and project team informed of progress
- Training on the environment and process will be provided
