Desktop Technician (03/04)

Beacon Hill Staffing is currently looking for a Desktop Technician for a client in the Cleveland area. The ideal person would have expert knowledge in Microsoft and Mac laptop and desktop repair and support. This person must have superb operating system installation and troubleshooting. Excellent communication/customer service skills, motivated self-starter, and the attitude of going above and beyond the call of duty are required.

Some of the other technical abilities of the ideal candidate will include:

Hardware

- Knowledgeable of computer hardware
- Ability to troubleshoot and physically repair laptops, desktops
- Experience with/certifications in Apple, Dell, and Lenovo strongly preferred
- Able and willing to learn additional hardware skills
- Ability to work independently to solve hardware problems
- Able to multitask with multiple hardware repairs at a time

Software

- Strong familiarity with Windows XP, Vista, 7 operating systems
- Familiarity with Mac OS X preferred
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010
- Certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA A+) preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot software installation and operation issues
- Knowledgeable about/able to troubleshoot mobile phone operating systems:
- Android, iOS, Windows Phone (optional)
- Able and willing to learn additional software skills
- Ability to work independently to solve software problems
- Able to multitask with multiple software/OS installations at a time

Interpersonal

- Reliable, strongly self-motivated, and responsible to team and customers
- Able to work with customers in friendly, non-confrontational manner
- Putting customer service first and overwhelming customers with support
- Ability to work with team members in flexible roles to meet service demands
- Able to manage student workers and assist/train student workers

Hours:

- Monday - Friday 4:00pm - 10:30pm (with 30 min. break): 30 hours
- Saturdays 9:00am - 5:00pm (with 30 min. break): 7.5 hours
- 37.5 hours per week total
