DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN CHANNAHON, IL 12 MONTH CONTRACT

Our client is a rapidly growing company seeking a Tech Support candidate with at least 4 years of experience in a Desktop Support role.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPPORT FOR DESKTOP OPERATIONS:

- Image and deploy PCs following global processes
- Support Microsoft Office Applications including Excel Macros
- Printer setup and support (printers on vendor contract for HW Maintenance)
- Provide hardware setup support (moving hardware between offices, replacing old units, etc.)

SUPPORT FOR NETWORK OPERATIONS:

- General network connectivity (patching & testing)
- Install & maintain equipment as required under direction of central team
- Wireless testing
- Basic troubleshooting liaising with internal and external teams

MOBILE PHONE AND TELEPHONE SUPPORT:

- Setup and configure smartphones to connect to corporate email
- Provide basic end-user support for operating the device
- Perform advanced troubleshooting following global guidelines
- Maintain inventory records of devices
- PABX support
- Basic troubleshooting & data collection liaising with internal and external teams
- Deploy desktop handsets
- Install & test handsets

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Must have 4+ years' of desktop, laptop and printer hardware break-fix and troubleshooting
- Must have a strong knowledge of Servers and networking
- Excellent understanding of the Microsoft platform
- Experience with Microsoft Server 2008 R2
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 7/Office 2010
- Relevant certifications, eg MCSE, highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of SQL and MySQL
- Experience with Service-now ITSM tool
- Administration of Avaya PABXs and Avaya voicemail
- Basic knowledge of Cisco routing, wireless and switching equipment.
- Experience with Document Management, especially Microsoft SharePoint
- Knowledge of Altiris/SCCM would be highly desirable
- University Degree, or equivalent work experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Local language skills relevant to the location
- English essential
